I have degrees in writing from Lancaster University and the University of Alberta as well as a certificate in Translation Studies from the latter. I am a member of the Writers' Guild of Alberta. I provide readings, classroom writing workshops, and lectures on ekphrastic poetry, maternal influences on reading and writing, and bibliotherapy.

My poetry and non-fiction have appeared in Canadian, American and British print and on-line publications such as Family Pictures: Poems and Photographs Celebrating Our Loved Ones, Ars Medica, In the Red, The Dawntreader, TG Magazine, Legacy and WWR Magazine. My fiction and drama have been read and produced on CBC Radio and on stage at the University of Alberta. My work has won two Alberta Anthology Writing Contests and been a finalist in the Academy of Children's Writers Annual Competition.

In addition to writing, I maintain a piano and music theory studio and have played in various bands, sung in a number of choirs and participated in numerous music festivals. I am also a certified teacher of the Sympto-Thermal Method of natural family planning. I enjoy reading, traveling, cooking and spending time with my family.
